This is the highest tested rating possible and is achieved by scoring in the 90th percentile on the USPTA Certification Exam. Professional 1 members are commonly considered for director of tennis or head tennis professional job opportunities. They should be able to develop lesson programs, direct activities, manage pro shop operations and oversee a tennis facility. A Professional 1 also should be able to handle employee relations tasks such as hiring, developing budgets, directing communications and serving as an integral part of the facility management team.

Jeff Horn is a nationally acclaimed tennis professional.  He began teaching tennis at Altamonte Racquet Club in 1980 and then instructed at Mission Inn Golf & Tennis Resort in Howey-In-The Hills, Florida.  In 1983 Horn was hired by former world-class player Bob Stock to assist in building the tennis program at Sabal Point County Club in Longwood.  In 31 years of coaching Horn has done so at numerous sites throughout Florida and there is not an aspect of the sport that Horn is not experienced in.  For the last 9 years Horn has worked as one of just a few full-time tennis professionals in the Orlando area who are self-employed free-lancers.

Horn has attended numerous conventions and seminars through the years for continuing education, has been published numerous times, and has had the privilege of speaking and serving not only as a tennis coach but also in an administrative capacity.  Horn subscribes to a traditional style of teaching in the school of Peter Burwash, Vic Braden, & Denis Van Der Meer.

Horn believes in a strong work ethic combined with a dose of pragmatism to achieve a player's potential.
